Beware of their dubious schemes. I was not told about annual membership fees when I joined. After using the gym for few months, I cancelled my membership. They need 1 month notice so ended up paying for an extra month without using their services. Then the manager, Ryan Ching talked me into freezing the account for 3 months instead of cancelling. After a month of being in freeze, I emailed to cancel my account (almost 2 month before the freeze ends and account due for charge). I was surprised to see a charge even after my account was cancelled. I called Ryan Ching and left multiple voice messages. He never called back. I also sent emails and finally he responded to emails but was very rude and after a month of complaining has still not issued a refund.
I'll admit, my rating comes from about 5 minutes of experience with this gym, but that's about all the time I want to spend there. I went to go swim with a friend who is a member - but they wouldn't let her bring a guest without charging $11 for a day pass. So fine, I paid my $11 and signed the waiver, and headed to the pool. (No "welcome", or "here's the rules", or "would you like a tour" or nothing, by the way, just "give us your money and good bye". Some service.) After getting changed in the locker room, I nearly slipped 3 times on the way to the pool because they chose to use slick tiles on the floors instead of something sensible, and I'm incredibly lucky I didn't fall and hurt myself. (Hence their fees and waivers, I'm sure.) When I got to the pool area, it was already 8pm but the pool was still packed with no place to swim, so I went back to the front desk and asked for a refund on my pass... which they couldn't give me. So enjoy your $11, Gold's Gym, that's all you'll ever be getting out of me. I was considering buying a membership (thus my reason for going as a guest) but this place is not worth a second chance. I'll find another place to do my water exercises.
Friendly, helpful staff who usually greet clients and wish them well. Trainers to suit different workout styles & goals, including dietary advice, regular weighing, the "pinch test" etc. The 25 meter pool, large hot-tub, & a fun children's mini-pool with fountain, are appealing options, but could be better cleaned/maintained. Large, clean changing rooms, with many showers and lockers of different sizes are convenient.
Fantastic kids club! Best in the area! Kids club srafdbare amazing, and super friendly! My kids love it there. And trust them with my kids. Equipment is new and in good condition. Gym is clean and well maintained. Have a good pool and a cardio cinema! The people who work out there are super friendly, too!
We really enjoy this gym! The equipment is in great condition. There are so many different spaces in the gym which helps me mix up my workouts. The kid's club is really big & lots of activities. The classes & instructors are motivational and challenging. I am big fan of the cinema room too! I do agree with other reviews that the swimming pool tiles are super slippery & the women's locker's room could use an update.
